The Armourers & Brasiers’ Company is a 700-year-old livery company in the City of London. Its primary charitable purpose is to support education and research in Materials Science, from primary school to post-doctoral level. The Armourers & Brasiers’ Company have funded this prestigious prize as a way to recognise the research excellence, outreach, and teaching activities of postdoctoral researchers in the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy in Cambridge.
