In addition to several new students and visiting collaborators, two new postdocs have joined the Driscoll group to work on neuromorphic materials and devices!
Dr Seb Dixon joins the group having spent the first few years of his postdoctoral work as a scientist in industry, working on metal oxide and 2D material crystal growth on silicon wafers. His interest lies in bridging the gap between academic research and commercial deeptech through industrially scalable research practices. His work currently focuses on wafer-scale metal oxide epitaxy on silicon for manufacturability of next-generation non-volatile memory chip technologies.
Dr. Heebeom Ahn conducted research on the array implementation and switching mechanism of solution-processed resistive memory during his PhD. Currently, he is interested in developing Li-ion-based electrochemical memory which can be applied to energy-efficient in-sensor computing.
